As 2016 has ended it would be wrong for the best listing blog in Nigeria not make a list of Nigerians that broke the internet in the year 2016.



1. Lt. Col. Abubakar Ali - The gallant Nigerian soldier, was killed at the battle front in November 2016, when they were ambushed by Boko haram fighters he was commanding officer of the 272 Task Force Tank Battalion,The brave soldier was loved and was recently promoted to his new rank.

2. Tiwa Savage and Teebillz- The couple had a messy social media rant and an alleged suicide attempt by Teebillz, where there was a famous interview which featured Tiwa Savage's response to the allegations levied against her by her now estranged husband, Teebillz. Where "awesome cake" became famous and how she was paying unnecessary bills etc.  The saga felt more or less like a Nigerian movie with different scenes, but rumors have it that the couples may be back together very soon. Never say never I guess, If they do get back together someone should advise them on exposing things on social media.

3.Mayowa Ahmed - The lady who died fighting ovarian cancer, was trending for weeks as the #savemoyowaahmed campaign which involved Toyin Aimakhu ,Miss Aramide Kasumu, the director of Lifestake Foundation, who launched an online appeal to raise funds and later the Police and popular blogger Linda Ikeji which first labelled it a scam, but later retracted and issued an apology.

4. Chidinma Okeke - The ex-beauty queen of the Miss Anambra beauty pageant shot to the limelight after a video allegedly showing her in action with a fruit (cucumber) and another lady performing some stunts, although she released several conflicting statement denying, then later accusing others of her ordeal.

Don Jazzy vs Olamide - The Mavins Boss had an altercation with the YBNL Boss Olamide at the 2015 headies award which was actually held on the 1st of January 2016, over the winner of the coveted Next rated Headies award, where REEKADO BANKS won, and Olamide felt LIL KESH from his label deserved the award, where me made a statement "Every song was a hit , back to back" and social media couldn't get enough of that statement.

6. Nnamdi Kanu - The Radio Biafra Director and front man for the Ingenious people of Biafa (IPoB) was arrested in Lagos by the DSS, and has been on trial for over a year, with so many twists and turns to the trail, for everyday he appeared in court there was another drama to it.

Aisha Buhari - The wife of the President of Nigeria, granted an interview to BBC Hausa where she alleged that cabals had hijacked her husband’s party and that she might not support her husband should he decide to contest the 2019 elections. After which the President made the famous statement where he said his wife belongs to "the kitchen, the bedroom and the other room".

8. Linda Ikeji - Apparently Africa's number 1 blogger was in the News in 2016 for many reasons, her Birthday messages, she lunched Linda Ikeji Social, alleged tax evasion rumours, beef with WIZKID, etc.

Dasuki - The former national security adviser to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is currently on trail for allegedly mismanagement of funds, there have been several twists and turns to the trial and every court appearance was one drama or the other. There have been bail hearings, etc,he even lost his Dad in 2016 and apparently was not allowed to attend the burial etc.

Prof Wole Soyinka- The vocal and sometimes controversial Nobel prize winner, went viral where he alleged in a video , he'll destroy his green card, if Donald Trump won the US election, just like many famous people who felt a Donald Trump victory was an impossibility had people trolling him online after the famous victory of President elect Donald Trump..
