2. Edo State Elections -Edo State is located in the Southern region of Nigeria. Elections in Nigeria are very important as they usually decide if you'll be "chopping" or "hibernating" for the next four (4) years, and the elections that held in Edo State was keenly contested between the two major parties in Nigeria, the ruling APC and the opposition PDP even though there were up to 16 other contestants from other smaller parties. The election was marred by irregularities and hitches left , right and centre, this is the first time that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has successfully concluded an election promptly in recent times. The APC candidate was declared the winner of the election by INEC.

GOOGLE - No.1 most visited website in the world, search giant google celebrated her birthday during the week, a lot of people did not know about this, myself inclusive of course but google made sure we recognized this fact.by changing the font and letters of their name on this day, apparently   this was GOOGLE's 18th birthday, so don't be surprised if you see her in a Pub right next to you, if you are in the UK or other locations that 18 is the legal age.

5. US Presidential Election Debate- The debate held sometime last week, and like foreign football , you'll be amazed how Nigerians in Nigeria follow the presidential elections of other countries especially the United States and United Kingdom, you'll even hear people say they support Hillary or they support Trump, even though they are miles away and are not eligible to vote, I guess its just to show that you are socially aware of whats going on around the world, or just maybe its another topic to kill some time at the Bar or Hair salon or probably because of the global importance of these Nations.

Happy Independence Day celebration Nigeria

Nigeria on the 1st of October 1960 gained independence from her colonial master, today marks the 56th celebration, although it has not been 56 years of  "independence" because Nigeria is largely dependent on Foreign countries for a lot of commodities but I guess its worth celebrating.  This "forced" marriage of the Southern and Northern Protectorate in 1914 for purely British Interest for trade purposes is still in existence, our diversity is something to celebrate and be proud of indeed.
