2. Headies award 2016 - The Headies award is a musical award hosted by HipTv, Nigeria, with one of the most talked about category, "the next rated" artist category, Last year it was filled with so much drama and conflict that people were talking about it for over a week, but this year there was less drama and lots of empty seats as some artist decided to boycott the award. The next rated award was won by "Mr Eazi"

James Ibori - The former Delta state governor was released from prison in U.K this week, where he served term for "jail term in London, UK, for money laundering and conspiracy to defraud" according to sources, although he was jailed, the love his people especially of the Urhobo extraction have for him, is amazing, he is indeed their hero.

4.  Plastic rice - There were rumors that plastic rice has been imported into the country and several messages were circulating on social media (bbm,whatsapp and co)  on how to identify the so called plastic rice, to add to this, customs apparently seized about 102 bags, but samples were sent to the laboratory and according to Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, there is no evidence of such from preliminary reports, although people were cautious since a bag of rice now sold for over 20 thousand naira, about triple what it sold for same period 2015. 




5. Football (Soccer) - Man city won Arsenal 2-1 at the beginning of the week to go 3rd on the English premier league table, there were no games this Saturday 24th of December as the next set of matches are slated for boxing day in the EPL,
