5 popular mobile phone brands in Nigeria




1.       Tecno – Tecno mobile is a Chineese mobile phone company which is now a house hold name in mobile communication in Nigeria , The company started in South East Asia in July 2006 but later focused on Africa from 2008, their style of phones which sometimes look similar to that of Samsung but they give most users affordability and sleek style phone, most often with the ability of using dual sim cards.



2.       Nokia – Even though the company’s glory days are no more where in Nigeria when you talked of mobile phones you talked of only NOKIA. Mainly because of its rugged nature, people even nick named these phones “no care”….. today they are used as backup mobile phones for most individuals and business people, because with the “NOKIA” torch, one full charge can take you for days, since it is used to just make calls and for text messaging mostly.


3.       Blackberry – Although blackberry is a sinking ship, but it hasn’t lost all its patronage in Nigeria, because at the moment, the other phones in Blackberry’s class are so expensive with the increase in foreign exchange, therefore people that want quality phones but don’t want to be tagged as using “CHINA” phones opt for Blackberry phones , mainly Q10, Q5, Z-10, Z-30.

4.       Samsung- Very popular in the days of Samsung Blue i and True i. but Samsung indeed has metaphors probably the King of High end android phones, they are durable and keep pushing the specification limits and features of mobile telecommunication beyond bounds their main features include finger print sensors, eye gestures, swipe gestures etc.

5.       Apple (iphones) – Very popular mainly in Europe and America but not so in Nigeria because of the fact that in Nigeria most phones or products have to be bought at the full market prices, which is quite a fortune for the “average” Nigerian. Their phones are sleek mainly touch screen phones with class….
